SMU Cox, American Petroleum Institute Join Forces
SMU Cox Executive Education and the American Petroleum Institute (API) have joined forces to deliver executive education curriculum and other customized education-related services to petroleum and natural gas industry professionals worldwide.
In conjunction with API through API University, a continuing education source for oil and gas professionals, SMU Cox will make available a variety of established leadership and management programs to API members and clients. In addition, SMU Cox will create and develop custom educational solutions geared specifically for API members' companies training needs. These programs are delivered at their location or at the new James M.Collins Executive Education Center on the SMU campus.
"The SMU Cox School of Business, in association with the Maguire Energy Institute, provides management education programs tailored for the oil and gas industry," says Frank Lloyd, Ph.D., Associate Dean of Executive Education. "We are excited about the opportunity to work with API because it enables us to better serve the oil and gas industry we've already been serving for a quarter century. Our relationship with API and its members allows us to maintain our leading-edge knowledge of the industry."
Red Cavaney, API President/CEO, adds, "We are pleased to associate ourselves with a well respected business school like SMU Cox. With the addition of the Cox School's Executive Education programs to API University, we are now better aligned to meet not only the technical training needs of our members, but some of the specific management development challenges our companies face in an ever-changing business climate."
The new relationship with API expands SMU Cox Executive Education's relationships in the oil and gas industry. Existing partnerships with Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA) and Independent Petroleum Association of Mountain States (IPAMS) enable us to offer unique and relevant seminars to their members in areas including finance, management and leadership.
